Jake Whittaker, emerging Brisbane/Gold Coast artist, is fast becoming known as a rising young talent in the music scene.

His easygoing nature and love of his craft are always evident on stage and embraced by his audiences. Jake has a unique and varied sound in his original work, allowing his ever-growing creative skills to direct his songwriting.

With a love of rock, surf rock, pop, 60s soul and funk, Jake’s style has evolved into a unique and honest sound. Jake first picked up a guitar at the age of eleven, when music very quickly became his main focus as he studied music throughout his high school years.

Jake-Whittaker-Jake now continues this path, studying a Bachelor of Popular Music with the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University. Here he is able to focus on his music and songwriting and develop his craft further as a dedicated musician.

Jake is soon to release his debut EP, aptly named Hit the Ground Running, a broad sound, spiced with mixed genres. Jake’s music is evolving into a world of its own, filled with much emotion. Be sure to catch one of Jake’s originals gigs to experience the warm sincerity, genuine nature and energy of this young artist and his music.

Along with his newly formed band The Sly Mavericks, Jake is looking forward to bringing his original brand of music to his audiences.

Also gigging regularly as a covers artist at pubs, clubs, and resorts along with weddings, parties, corporate functions and the like, Jake is loved by audiences for his talent, enthusiasm and desire to entertain.

See Jake at the Treehouse on Belongil, Byron Bay, this Friday.
