In 2005 Nicky decided to try her luck in Australian Idol.
She pitched a tent the night before the Brisbane auditions to ensure a reasonably good night’s sleep, which never happened thanks to all the excitement from other people that had the same idea. It was all worth it when Nicky found out – after making it through a few auditions – that she was chosen out of the 35,000 applicants and she was one of only 100 that made it to Sydney.
Nicky made it to the last day in Sydney. Just missing out on being a part of the top 24, the top 40 was good enough. Nicky was disappointed but happy to go home. Not letting this stop her from chasing her dream, Nicky packed her life up and decided to travel to Canada.
The plan was to stay for three months and check out the Calgary Stampede. Three years later and she finally made it back to Australia, her songs better than ever.
Nicky is very passionate about her music, she will blow you away with her amazing voice and captivating, catchy compositions that you won’t be able to shake out of your head and that will leave you wanting more. She has an energy that will leave you energised and warm. When she’s not making music or gigging Nicky enjoys the simple life in the country, where her heart belongs.
