Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. As a mum of St Finbarrs and one of the organisers of the Fair, I’d just like to say thankyou to Sharon for a beautiful job capturing the essence of the day. It was a special day and you have given us a memory to keep and it reflects the family backyard party we were after. Thankyou

  2. PAs a Nanna to Gabe, Jude and Jonah Taylor who attend St Finbarr’s School it was wonderful for me see the video of “St Finbarr’s celebrates milestone” as I am in Melbourne, and as a bonus I was able to catch glimpses of all three boys having a great time.
I would like to add my thanks to all the parents, staff and children who helped put on a “Great Day”
The community spirit of St Finbarrs showed on the day.

  3. I brought my daughter along to your fair & was really impressed with the sense of community.
    Everyone was welcoming.
So glad that there are still safe places for children to experience the spirit of christmas.
Congratulations to all the parents, volunteers & organises.
    Bring on 2014!

Youth crime is increasing – what to do?

There is something strange going on with youth crime in rural and regional Australia. Normally, I treat hysterical rising delinquency claims with a pinch of salt – explicable by an increase in police numbers, or a headline-chasing tabloid, or a right-wing politician.
