Keeping watch on Tyalgum Road

Residents keen to stay up to date on the status of the temporary track at Tyalgum Road – particularly during significant rain events – are urged to sign up to a new SMS alert system launched by Tweed Shire Council.

Tweed Shire Council is inviting feedback from the community about preferred options for the future use and management of the Bilambil Sports Club building.

In parallel with the community consultation, Council is also inviting registrations of interest for any proposed commercial use of the building, located at the corner of Bilambil and Hogan Roads.

‘The building has been vacant since the Bilambil Sports Club Inc wound up operations last year,’ says Council’s manager of recreation services, Stewart Brawley.

‘This two-pronged approach allows for the general community to provide comment and suggestions on preferred uses, and also provides a mechanism to submit proposals that are commercial in nature through a more formalised expression-of-interest process.

‘Any future arrangement for the club’s management must allow appropriate access for the existing sporting clubs to allow them to continue to conduct their activities effectively.’

The complex hosts clubs from a variety of sports, including soccer, touch and cricket.

Further information is available by visiting Council’s Tweed Heads or Murwillumbah offices or by contacting Stewart Brawley on (02) 6670 2491 or by email to [email protected].

To provide feedback, submissions should be emailed to [email protected] or posted to Bilambil Sports Club, General Manager, Tweed Shire Council, PO Box 816, Murwillumbah NSW 2484.

To find out more about the about the tender process, or to submit a registration of interest, visit the website: www.tweed.nsw.gov.au/Tenders.
