Dave (Cavo) Cavanagh’s talents lie in accomplished entertainer playing acoustic guitar and harmonica. Starting at an early age he has crafted his talents playing solo, duos and bands across multiple genres of music throughout Australia.
Dave has formed and played in his own successful bands such as the Kelly Gang and Tattered & Blue, which gave him the platform to write his own music and songs to be able to perform to the multitudes.
An award-winning songwriter in New York and Australia, some of his songs being Don’t Lock Me Up and Been to Bourke ’n’ Back. Dave has written his own original music for soundtracks on movies, eg Journey Home, the title track on Mick Fanning’s movie Lightning Strikes and It’s a Surfers Paradise video clip with mate Bill Jacobi from Floyd Vincent and the Child Brides. Both clips were shot by legend moviemaker Matty Gye.
Dave has supported acts such as Bob Geldof, Tommy Emmanuel, Kevin Borich, Blues Legends USA, Billy Thorpe and Cold Chisel to name a few. Dave’s journey has come full circle as early on in his music career he met Michael (Pigeon Boy) Farmer and they played venues in and around Sydney together.
Michael (Pigeon Boy) Farmer learnt his drumming skills from his talented father, who was a drummer in the Big Band era.
Michael has played and recorded in many bands: XL Capri, Motervators, Tactics, Chris Turner Band, and his claim to fame is playing on the Hoodoo Gurus’ first album plus other sessions.
Michael has supported Australian and overseas bands on tour within Australia, such as Ian Dury and the Block Heads, The Cure, Eric Burdon and the Animals, John Mayall, Jimmy Barnes, Midnight Oil, Bob Geldof, AC-DC and many more.
