Adrian Gattenhof has hit the nail on its moustache (Letters, Echonetdaily, January 8)! When confronted with insurMOuntable odds and imMOvable objections we just do what all Byronians know best. We get creative, we break through taboos, we laugh at the ogres. We dance at the coal mines. We meditate at the gas wells. We sing to the police. We play, we have fun changing the world!

Let’s fight fear with joy. Insanity with loopiness. Toot if the stupidity of our politicians is driving you crazy. Come on, go and turn on the ignition and toot three times. Do it now! We all long to hear it. The sound of joyful change rolling around the world.

Roll back the clock and be like a child. Play with solar, run with wind, spin with electric motion. Jump on your bike, climb with sustainability, roll over with investments, hop between banks.

The time has come for the third Summer of Love. It is a thousand-year summer and it has already begun. We can make it cool, people.

Sapoty Brook, Mullumbimby

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
