A man killed in a single car crash south of Casino yesterday (Sunday) morning is the fourth fatality in the region in the past week.
About 11am yesterday emergency services were called to Ellangowan after a passing motorist discovered a car that had rolled down an embankment on Ellangowan Road
On arriving at the scene, police found the male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle dead at the scene.
Police at Casino are appealing for anyone who might have seen the light blue Subaru station wagon on either Friday 24 January or Saturday 25 January to contact them.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
The accident follows two single-vehicle fatalities at Casino and Main Arm last week in which the male drivers, of Casino and Crabbes Creek respectively, were killed, and a two-car collision a few days ago near Lennox Head in which a 20-year-old Bangalow woman was killed. All were north coast locals.
