Tweed Valley Shield: The first game of the Tweed Valley Shield will be played this Monday January 20 and Kingscliff will play Coolangatta at South Tweed. Teams are on the board.

District News: Nominations are being called for the District Open, Senior and Reserves Fours. Nominations close on January 20.

Wednesday 8 January: A few light showers kept the heat at bay making for a pleasant afternoon of bowls. Winners on the day were Mike Ross, Milton Rice and Phil Bennett with Ivor Sullivan, Dave Lee and Ron Appleton taking home the runners-up money.

Saturday 11 January: A hectic arvo of activities with the greens overflowing with bowlers and two championship games being played as well. The final of the Mixed pairs, after being held over from last year, was a fiercely contested event. The game saw the two teams scoring neck and neck until the very last couple of ends when the victors were able to hold onto a narrow lead to take home the title. Congratulations to Mav and Damien Sparkes, winners of this event together with the runners-up Greg Sawtell and Marie Comerford. Great game, folks.
In the first round of the Club Championship Fours Jason Raisin, Ron Parker, Ken Coyte and Steve Waygood defeated Rob Bryant, Mark Bennett, Alan Durrington and Alan Bennett.

Social Results: Winning rink went to Ray Daunt, Mike Ross, Ron Appleton and Ray Chandler. Runners-up were John Koning, Richard Brown, Bob Wilson and Warren Whitney. Congrats and well done, everyone.

COMING EVENTS: January 20 – 1st round of the Tweed Valley Shield. Good luck and good bowling to the Potty men in this event.
January 20 – Nominations for all TBDBA Championship Fours close. January 25 – Entries for Club Championship Triples close. Please make sure you have your entries in by these dates.
