Dave-Hughes-Dave Hughes made the call that 2014 would be all about standup.

Hughesy has said goodbye to more than a decade of pre-dawn starts with his last Nova 100 breakfast shift last year.

He was in the enviable position of going out on top as the Number 1 rating show in Melbourne and still firing. Soon after he made the call to finish up on TV’s boldest experiment, The Project, after nearly four years at the desk.

The simplicity of standup has always suited Dave – he is in his element when it is just him, a microphone and a full house.

Hughesy is simply one of the best standups we have ever produced and now is the chance to see him in full stride playing full runs at our major comedy festivals.

For a night of comedy gold you can’t look past this laidback legend of Australian comedy.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
