Byron kids are ‘vaccination laggards’

AAP – A third of five-year-olds in the Byron Bay postcode are not up-to-date with their vaccinations, according to a new report by the National Health Performance Authority.

The controversial Australian Vaccination-skeptics Network (AVN), which has recently lost its charity status and been forced to change its name on the grounds of misrepresentation, is based in Byron Shire.

NSW has the most under-immunised youngsters, according to the authority. The seven postcodes with the lowest levels of immunisation are in all NSW, including Manly, The Rocks and Parramatta.

But Casuarina (NT), Beaumont (SA), South Yarra (Vic) and Noosa Heads (Qld) are not far behind, according to National Health Performance Authority data, released on Thursday.

The postcode  with the most immunised children is 3730 in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley, with 99 per cent coverage for five year olds.

National immunisation coverage for children aged one, two and five increased slightly to 91.5 per cent in 2012/13, according to the report.

This means 75,002 were not fully immunised.

Of these, 15,000 were registered conscientious objectors.

The coverage for indigenous five-year-olds jumped from 87.3 per cent to 92.1 per cent.

But the report showed teething problems with the new human papillomavirus (HPV) program to prevent cervical cancer, with three in 10 girls turning 15 not fully immunised.

Great South Coast in Victoria had the highest rate of immunisation out of the 61 Medicare local areas, with 95 per cent of five year olds fully immunised and 92 per cent success for the HPV vaccine.

People in areas of low immunisation should be worried, said Australian Medical Association president Dr Steve Hambleton.

‘The critical coverage for herd immunity is 92 per cent for measles, mumps and rubella and we target 95 per cent,’ Dr Hambleton said.

‘We immunise our children to protect them and our neighbours’ children. And we expect our neighbours to immunise their children to protect our children.’

But there are 60,000 children whose parents just didn’t get around to it.

He was delighted about the improvement for indigenous people.

‘It’s fantastic. The community-controlled health services have gone out of their way to focus on immunisation.’ he said.

He was also full of praise for the top performers.

‘Great South Coast needs a gold star. My goodness, what are they doing?’

What they did was reach out to the community and build trust, said Glenda Stanislaw, CEO of the Great South Coast Medicare Local, who plans to treat her team to a glass of champagne.

‘We have put a lot of energy into aboriginal immunisation, specifically at secondary school level for the HPV vaccine,’ Ms Stanislaw said.

‘For the younger children, we really did have to talk to parents and explain how important vaccinations are.’

Enforced medication from dubious corporations is now commonplace. Like the rat poison Sodium Flouride first used in concentration camps and Soviet Gulags to subdue prisoners, we are involuntarily dumbed down by our water and then docily injected with serums for which negative effects are routinely suppressed and big corporations like the Rockefellers (long associated with Eugenics) make huge profits. Profits they then use to stack governments in their favour. Don’t believe me, research it before you dismiss it. Plenty of info if you bother to look.
Meanwhile eminent researchers like Dr Wakefield in the UK are vilified by the controlled media for trying to protect the public.

“My final conclusion after forty years or more in this business is that the unofficial policy of the World Health Organization and the unofficial policy of Save the Children Fund and almost all those organizations is one of murder and genocide.

They want to make it appear as if they are saving these kids, but in actual fact they don’t. I am talking of those at the very top. Beneath that level is another level of doctors and health workers, like myself, who don’t really understand what they are doing.”

Vaccinations cause way more harm than good… the real problem here is that government are health and human rights “laggards” Just look at the Australian Government still putting fluoride in our water, even now, after The Lancet, the world’s oldest and most prestigious, and respected peer reviewed medical journal, recently published a report classifying Fluoride as a dangerous neurotoxin. The report puts Fluoride in the same category Arsenic, Lead, and Mercury. Read the report for yourself and share with everyone you know. We are literally being mass medicated with a dangerous chemical that disrupts the health of not only our brains (especially in children) but many other vital organs besides… and at the hands of the very same people who want mass vaccination because they claim its “good for us” when the figures on autism tell us something very different.

the truth here is that responsible and informed parents simply do not vaccinate their children for very good reason and a further and most important truth, is that we need some close public scrutiny directed at the actions of those public trustees we have chosen to represent us in the form of government

Unfortunately, the pharmaceutical business is just another corporate enterprise that is more interested in profit than peoples health. The industry has numerous court convictions for fraud and misrepresentation etc (

Why does the media push the pro vaccination line? I’m sure News Ltd/ Murdoch could answer that given that James Murdoch was a director on one of the biggest Pharma corporations that being GSK (

Less clearly, why does the independent Echo regurgitate an AAP news pro-vaccination report without balancing the debate? In fact, the Echo even repeats the AAP’s vilification against the AVN, but again (see other Echo stories on vaccination), the Echo does not seek comment from that group, or do its own research.

Vaccines are big money! According to a vaccine analyst the vaccines market will grow from about $4.3 billion in 2006 to $16 billion by 2016 across the US, Europe and Japan (,+Datamonitor's…-a0199464538). Whenever the Government adds another vaccine to the ever-increasing vaccination schedule the shareholders win.

One of the latest vaccines to be added is the Gardasil (HPV) vaccine. Why aren’t my children getting this government subsidised vaccine (you are supposed to get three shots)? Well, apart from the numerous adverse vaccine effects widely reported by parents, I subscribe to the common view as outlined by one writer:

“Did the Australian government tell women that the risk of dying from cervical cancer in Australia in 2003 – prior to the vaccine – was 1.9 deaths /100,000 women? No. This is a very low risk and it indicates that most women in Australia (and other developed countries) are not at risk of cervical cancer.

“This vaccine was tested for efficacy against CIN 2 and 3 lesions in young women (15-26 years of age). These lesions have been described as ‘pre-cancerous lesions’ yet it is known that CIN 2 and 3 in this age group are common but rarely progress to disease – either cancer or warts. So the term ‘ pre-cancerous lesion’ is misleading. Most of these lesions in this age group regress naturally within 1 or 2 years and never progress to disease – either cancer or warts. This is why many countries do not recommend Pap screening before 30 years of age.

“Vaccinating all women in developed countries means that the majority of women on the drug are not at risk of cervical cancer – but they are now at risk from the vaccine.

“This vaccine is not cost-effective because Pap screening is still required. The vaccine costs Aus$450 per individual – for 3 doses of the vaccine and it is not proven to be safe or effective. In Australia, the government is subsidising and recommending this vaccine to all teenage girls and boys in school based vaccination programs – even though it has never been demonstrated to prevent any cervical or anal cancers. And even though there has never been an independent assessment of the pharmaceutically funded research.

“The Australian Government does not call this a ‘cervical cancer vaccine’; it calls it the ‘HPV vaccine’ or ‘Gardasil’. This is because it has never been demonstrated to prevent any cervical cancer. Please ask the Australian Government why they are subsidising an unproven vaccine when Pap screening combined with surgery is proven to be a safe and effective prevention for cervical cancer.” (

While the report throws numbers and statistics about, it really misses the main objective or hypothesis, which is less vaccinations equates to more deaths.
Where is the Pearson’s correlation and the 95% confidence interval for the hypothesis? and remember correlation doesn’t always mean causation, especially if people had predisposed conditions.

    Dear Ed

Just wondering … given that one of my comments elsewhere was not published recently, why is my comment here still awaiting ‘moderation’ after I placed it two days ago? (plus it will not be published over the weekend – so whats happening – suppression or ‘moderation’). Note that it’s old news now and hence available to fewer readers. I think u should let people know if u have a problem with some aspect, After all, I spent no little effort!

  6. Menkit says:

Over a period of two months, eight infants in China reportedly died within hours, and in some cases minutes, of receiving hepatitis B vaccines. Nine other deaths among Chinese children aged 5 and younger were also recently reported following hepatitis B vaccination.
Can you blame parents for not wanting to take the risk. I hear homeopathic vaccination is 100 per cent effective and safe. Why put all those toxic ingredients in vaccines in your precious child? Heck I wouldn’t!
