An amber alert has been put in place for Lake Ainsworth near Lennox Head in relation to the presence of blue-green algae.

Byron Bay International Film Festival continues to draw capacity crowds to experience a trove of cinema gems, and opening night for this year’s event on Friday was no different. A total of 226 films from 36 countries, including 43 world premieres, will be screened in 50 public sessions in five venues across the northern rivers during the week-long fest.
