Police have charged a woman over a fatal crash near Casino last year.
Just after 2.30pm on Sunday 22 September last year, emergency services were called to Summerland Way at Shannon Brook, about 7km south of Casino, after a Toyota Camry left the road and hit a pole.
The passenger, a 37-year-old, was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to Brisbane Hospital. He died a few days later.
The driver, a 33-year-old woman, received minor injuries.
Following an investigation by officers from the Ballina Crash Investigation Unit, the woman attended Lismore Police Station yesterday (Tuesday 11 March 2014).
The Clunes woman was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death while under the influence and negligent driving occasioning death.
She was also charged with multiple offences relating to illicit drugs and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
She will appear in Casino Local Court on Wednesday 18 June 2014.
