Video Sharon Shostak
As the Bentley blockade wound down last week, following the announcement of the suspension of Metgasco’s gas exploration licence, long-time campaigners and camp residents rejoiced in the their victory and mourned the dismantling of their tent city.

Beautiful film Sharon. Definitely history in the making and an amazing group of protectors who must be feeling the loss of the Liberty Camp community at Bentley.
What a beautiful piece of work Sharon. Thank you for filming and showing the “other side” of the blockade, the packing up and the sadness that can also bring.
The amazing thing is that the whole camp was so well planned and organised, that if we are required to blockade again, we have all of our “fixtures” ready to go, and also clear ideas on what worked and didn’t work within the camp, to enable us to establish an even better one!
I would think any gas company who thinks they can wander in and throw a drill into the precious and sacred grounds of the Northern Rivers should be terrified of the financial torment that would bring them!
The people just wouldn’t allow it to happen, and we have a well oiled and educated community which will stop any threat. I am proud to be a part of this amazing AMAZING community. Love to you all xx
