If you can, show up at Bentley before a likely road closure and police arrival Monday 19 May (hope for 10,000 people) but make sure you check the sites at the bottom of this letter for the latest.

Many of us are tweeting (or emailing) news journos and politicians. You can help!

On ABC News 24, after Mike Baird’s  ‘Get Serious’ speech, he was asked why getting serious meant sending a huge contingent of police to move on a peaceful protest at Bentley. He mumbled something about approved development and law and order and he and new police minister ducked their heads.

We are sending tweets like this: ‘@mikebairdMP GET SERIOUS re risks from experimental CSG INSTEAD of sending 900 police to bust farmers frightened of drinking water pollution’.

If you can, when you tweet, add a photo to highlight your tweet.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
