Lismore Women’s Festival cancelled

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis that is sweeping NSW and other states in Australia the Lismore Women’s Festival has been cancelled.

There may be nurses in your community who have taken time away from the profession to have a family or to pursue other careers.

There’s now an incentive for them to consider returning to nursing, thanks to a $10,000 scholarship available from the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) which covers course costs and textbooks for CQUniversity’s Registered Nurse Re-Entry Course.

This scholarship is currently open for applications now until 15 September 2014.

This course is available via distance education (10 weeks online theory, three-day workshop and 160 hours of clinical placement) and CQUniversity can arrange clinical placements in the applicant’s home region.

It’s the only course of its type in Queensland and one of only a few in Australia available via distance education.

Details of the scholarship are available via the ACN website or by calling 07 4980 7079.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
