The popular Bay FM Radiothon has kicked off its annual appeal with an offer of prizes for new  subscribers.

The community radio station’s Radiothon, which runs for 12 days until 29 August, is Bay FM’s major fundraising event of the year.

Bay FM is a community within a community with a diverse range of people volunteering from differing backgrounds, life experiences, musical tastes and personalities.

During Radiothon, Bay FM shines the spotlight on the Byron Shire and beyond and lets listeners know what community radio can bring through its airwaves.

Every August, Bay FM asks its listeners and the wider community to subscribe. The station says that the Radiothon fundraiser is crucial to its continued success.

Listeners are urged to tune in each day as Bay FM will be giving away a daily prize at 5pm, with the major prize draw occurring at 6pm on Friday 29 August.

You can subscribe by calling the station on 66 807 999 or online at bayfm.org

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. Yeah whooowho! what a great major prize this year.

I love BayFM. So important for our healthy community. Independent media supporting everyone in the Shire, its that time of the year the community needs to show it supports the stations endeavors.

    Love it.
