Is the failing state of the planet causing our youth to be stressed?

Poor mental health in youth is an ever increasing problem. It is often flagged at by the media and various organisations, and whilst there are often brilliant resources that can be found, when it comes down to the cause of the increase in mental illness in Gen Z, parents and caregivers tend to put it (somewhat jokingly) down to our phones.

Entertainment in the Byron Shire for the week beginning 20 January, 2021

Australia's adopted son, Arj Barker, says ‘Come revel in a positive and nurturing, almost womb-like comedic experience! Together we’ll create an environment where I know it’s okay to fail, because of your unconditional acceptance. And therefore I can take chances, and come up with brand new insta-classics, unhindered by fear and insecurity. Join me, special friend, and become part of The Process.’

Manly-at-the-Rails-EJ-9W6A8857The mighty men of the Manly Sea Eagles were guests at the Railway Hotel in Byron Bay recently in an informal event the lads have been enjoying annually for six years.

Headed up by the Godfather of Manly, Ken ‘Arko’ Arthurson, players present and near and distant past had a good old fashioned catch-up with a contingent of local fans.

Mingling with the boys gave them a chance to take home a piece of share Sea Eagles live memorabilia.

Way too much fun was had by all and it was smiles all around – plenty of stories flew across the tables at the Rails.

Most of the boys had travelled up with a plan to spend the weekend in town – and Byron put on a great show of breezy spring sunshine as the early afternoon drifted into the early evening.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
