The Australian Surf Movie Festival is an annual national tour showcasing Tim Bonython’s Productions latest and greatest independent surf feature films throughout clubs, pubs and cinemas Australia wide.
The Amaysim Australian Surf Movie Festival (ASMF) presented by GOPRO is touring in Australia to kick off the start of summer.
The ASMF is the 12th annual national tour showcasing Tim Bonython’s latest surf movie and the winner of the short surf movie competition.
The event includes stories shot this year of secret spots off the South Coast of NSW Bombora, Depo, the Right, Cow Bombie, Gnaraloo and Rotto Box in Western Australia as well as Shipsterns in Tasmania and Pedra Blanca and hot off the press footages from Fiji and Tahiti 2014.
Tim Bonython is an award winning Cinematographer and Director, specializing in footage of local and big wave surfing. Since 1978, Tim sets off to show some of the most amazing surfing footage ever shot in Australia with captivating, breath-taking and inspiring films. His particularity: shooting the biggest waves with the best big wave surfers in the world then showing it all on the big screen.
Immersion the Movie, Blackwater, May Dayz, Encoded are some of Tim Bonython’s productions. Immersion won many awards around the world throughout its first year touring to various film festivals and has been called the ‘best surf movie to date’. The latest surf film, is Encoded: The story of the world’s most dangerous wave continues.
