Tweed Byron LAC Inspector Gary Cowan has confirmed a man who escaped from Murwillumbah police station yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 28 January 2015) had been placed in a cell prior to disappearing.
Police are appealing for help to locate Joshua Mead, 27, who absconded from the police station on Murwillumbah Street about 4.10pm after appearing in court on property offences.
He is described Caucasian appearance with heavily tattooed legs, 180cm tall, of medium build and with blue/grey eyes
Mead has fair hair and is of unshaven appearance.
Anyone who sights Joshua Mead or has information on his whereabouts should contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
