Santos meets to decide fate of North West

As Santos prepares for their AGM, the people of the North West are also preparing for a fight to stop them.

Santos shareholders will meet this Thursday to decide the future of the Pilliga gas project, which has been plagued by aquifer contamination with uranium, lock-ons from farmers and a promise from NSW Labor to stop the project.

A large recent community meeting held in Gunnedah recently formed a human sign saying ‘land + water’.

During a day of celebration, three million hectares of country were declared gasfield-free with 96% support from residents.
