A benefit concert will be held this Saturday, May 16 at the Mullum Civic Hall from 5 till 11pm to directly help those affected by the recent earthquake in Nepal.

It’s a collaboration between the Mullum Chamber of Commerce, Mullum Music Festival and the Byron Spirit Festival.

The night will feature Wild Marmalade, Gabriel and Cecilia, Walrus & The Carpenter, The Hottentots, Amir Paiss, Avishai Barnatan and Shai Shriki. MCs will be mayor Simon Richardson and comedian Ellen Briggs.

There will be a huge raffle with prizes including double passes to Mullum Music Festival, Bello Winter Music, Byron Spirit Festival, Falls Festival, a $500 gift voucher from Crystal Castle and more.

A giant Nepalese curry will be prepared by Stream Cameron, with Santos providing the ingredients.

Donations of up-cycled quality goods, art, garden produce and services are welcome for our Give, Get, ’n’ Gift Market.

Proceeds will go to Friends of India, Giving it Back, who are trucking in canvas and sewing machines for tents, Bumi Sehat Foundation, who are providing midwifery services, and Amma’s charity, Embracing the World.
