Signatories to a Change.org petition opposing Byron Shire Council’s extension of paid parking in Byron Bay have now reached over 1,000, with 28 pages of comments from a broad cross-section of our community.

These documents have now been forwarded to the mayor and general manager. Based upon our own surveys, residents, ratepayers and businesses overwhelmingly reject additional parking fees.

Accordingly, a Notice of Request has been served upon council to convene a public forum wherein alternative revenue-raising schemes can be considered and all views heard.
