People with disability, their carers and families on the North Coast will benefit from the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) from 2017.
This is great news for people with disability in the local community, their carers and families.
I know many local residents with disability have waited their whole life to get the care and support they need.
Today’s announcement is a huge breakthrough for people with disability on the North Coast.
Now they have the certainty of knowing when they’ll be able to access services as part of the NDIS.
Finally, people with disability will have their needs met in a way that supports them to live with choice and dignity.
Labor created the NDIS so we know what this means for people with disability.
We know that the current system of disability support is broken and needs to be fixed.
We know how the NDIS will transform lives. Already, more than 17,000 people with disability have access across Australia.
I look forward to seeing it continue to change the lives of people with disability on the North Coast.
