A Queensland man appeared in court on Saturday after being charged with multiple offences.

About 2.15am on Saturday (September 12) officers from Tweed Heads Target Action Group were patrolling Kennedy Drive when they spotted a red Toyota Corolla stopped in Gray Street.

Police spoke to the two male occupants and discovered the driver was disqualified.

A search of the Toyota revealed a number of bags containing a substance believed to be ice (methamphetamine), cash and a knife.

The 19-year-old Queensland driver was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was drug tested.

He was later charged with possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, drive whilst disqualified, custody of a knife and proceeds of crime.

He has remained in custody to reappear Monday (September 14).
