Police have charged a Queensland teenager after an alleged robbery and assault at Casino earlier this year.
About 10.45pm on Saturday 31 October 2015, a 14-year-old boy was walking along Walker Street when he was approached by two males near the intersection of Barker Street.
One of them allegedly punched the teenager in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.
The pair demanded money, before the second male allegedly took the boy’s backpack and kicked him in the face.
The thugs left in a black four-wheel drive being driven by a third male which had been reported stolen from Queensland five days earlier.
The 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital and underwent surgery to his nose.
Following an investigation, Casino detectives, with assistance from Queensland Police, executed search warrant at a home in Slacks Creek, near Brisbane.
A 16-year-old boy was taken to Logan Police Station.
He has been issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for robbery in company, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and fraud.
He will appear at a children’s court on 20 January 2016.
