To whom ever is concerned – the cows on Prashant – Grays Lane are not skinny, they are old.
We at Prashant have provided an aged home for various people’s cows that they can no longer take care of. We have re-fenced and have a lot of paddock for the cows we run. In fact the vet has proclaimed two of the four that remain as overfed.
Because the bulk of our cows are old and of unknown age they do get skinny and die. We have lost two in the last year. This is the normal course of events. Both have been humanely put down by the vet.
Our cows are NOT being starved, they are simply living to the end of their lives. Like older people they often get skinny and weak toward the end of their life. This is not what you see in paddocks where cattle are raised for meat or dairy purposes.
By the way we are not taking further cows as we are converting over to using our place for horses.
If you wish further information regarding our cows please contact us directly and come to us up front.
