Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man after a four-vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway yesterday.
About 8.50pm (Sunday June 26), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway at Blackmans Point following a crash involving a Holden Commodore, B-double truck, a Fiat and a Hyundai.
Police were told a white Holden Commodore attempted to overtake a B Double truck whilst travelling northbound and collided head on with a Black Fiat in the southbound lanes.
The white Holden Commodore then hit the side of the B Double truck, trapping the driver.
The Black Fiat crossed to the northbound lanes and collided head on with a white Hyundai.
The driver of the Holden Commodore, a 32-year-old man, sustained serious injuries. He was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Port Macquarie hospital; however, he died this morning.
A number of other people sustained minor injuries and were taken to Port Macquarie Hospital.
An investigation into the crash is continuing and police would like to hear from anyone who can assist.
