A bushfire in the Tyagarah Nature Reserve, between the beach and the tea tree lakes, has been brought under control but not before burning out about three hectares.
According to the Rural Fire Service the fire broke out around 10.30 this morning and was brought under control around 4.30pm this afternoon.
No private property came under threat and, according to a post on the Grays Lane Facebook page, the burn is between the tea tree lake and the entrance gate and ‘seems to be largely the chaff on the ground.’
The reserve is expected to be closed until sometime on Saturday.
