A cast of 294 Bangalow Public School students took centre stage and presented Alice in Wonderland last week.
It was their biennial school musical, with three performances held over two days at Byron Bay High School Hall.
Promoter Viv Fantin said, ‘Every single student from Bangalow Public School was involved in the production – from rehearsing lines, song and choreography to helping with props and costumes.’
‘Cast members also had the opportunity to rehearse with NORPA’s artistic director Julian Louis, who generously gave our students his time and expertise.’
Teamwork
Director and BPS assistant principal Larissa Polak said, ‘Our school musical is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the creative efforts of all our students. It is a dynamic example of teamwork, cooperation within our school community and above all creativity at Bangalow Public School. Watching our students grow in confidence through creative arts opportunities is immensely rewarding. The smiles on their faces at every performance said it all.’
‘The BPS production of Alice in Wonderland could not have been possible without the efforts of all the brilliant teaching staff at Bangalow Public School and the wonderful parent community. BPS would like to thank Byron High School principal Peter King and the support of the Byron Bay High School students who led the backstage and lighting crew.
‘This was a wonderful opportunity to work with our local feeder high school.’
