A 16-year-old girl is the third person to arrested in relation to a vandalism attack on Ballina High School last week which forced the closure of the school for a day, and $100,000 damage.
Police from the Richmond Target Action group arrested the girl last night after extensive investigations.
She will appear in the Ballina Children’s Court next week.
Her arrest follows the arrest of a 14-year-old male, who will appear before court, and another male aged between 15 and 16 years old, who will be dealt with via a youth conference.
Inspector Doug Connors said the trio had been seen entering the school and fled when police arrived.
Police allege the young people entered the school ground armed with wooden baseballs bats and proceeded to smash and cause extensive damage through a number of areas in the school.
Children at war with the world…I shouldn’t laugh, but they are incorrigible creatures at times…:-)
