Full Moon natural wine festival!

Full Moon Festival by Luna Wine Store welcomes 30 of Australia’s most exciting winemakers and natural wine importers to...

Imagine the surprise of holidaymakers who arrived at a rental property at Brownell Drive, Byron Bay, at about 6pm on Friday (September 30), only to find someone else had already taken up residence there.

They discovered a 33-year-old man had broken into the property, moved items in the house around, and taken personal possessions inside.

Byron Bay Police spoke with the man, who they said ‘unsuccessfully tried to convince them he owned the house.’ He was placed under arrest.

After further enquiries about a rental car that the man had allegedly parked in the driveway, police say it had been reported stolen the previous day.

The man was taken to Byron Bay Police Station, and charged with breaking into the house and stealing the rental car. He was refused bail, to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday, October 4.
