A 51-year-old man remains in  a critical condition in hospital after the tractor he was driving rolled over in rough terrain near Uki late on Friday afternoon.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter’s medical team used night goggles and were winched down to where the man was trapped, extracting him from the wreckage.

The accident happened on a property at Terragon south of Uki in the Tweed Valley.

The man was assessed for major head, chest and abdomen injuries and taken in a critical condition to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
