Police have released CCTV footage in an attempt to identify two young men who assaulted a 61-year-old man in Griffith Street, Tweed Heads, on Sunday (December 18).

Police say one of the young men punched the victim in the head causing swelling and bruising to the victim’s face and head, while the second young offender watched on and encouraged the attack.

The CCTV footage was taken around the time of the attack on Wharf Street, around the corner from where the assault took place.

Police are requesting anyone who recognises the two young men shown in the photos to contact police with their details and information.
