A 67-year-old man was airlifted to the Lismore Base Hospital yesterday after rolling his car at Whiporie.

The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter attended the accident around 1.30pm and landed a short distance away.

The man, who was still trapped in his car when the helicopter landed, was eventually freed by the emergency service members.

The local ambulance, police, Rural Fire Service and the Volunteer Rescue Association attended the scene.

Once freed and stablised, the 67-year-old man was transported to the Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
