An 87-year-old man has been charged following the death of a 22-year-old motorcyclist in a crash near Tweed Heads in October last year.
Police said a Toyota Hilux utility and the motorcyclist collided at the intersection of Numinbah Road and Couchy Creek Road, Numinbah, about 10.15am on Monday, 24 October.
The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.
The driver of the Hilux, the 87-year-old man was not injured. He was taken to Murwillumbah Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and commenced investigations.
The 86-year-old driver of the Hilux was charged on Wednesday with dangerous driving cause death, negligent driving cause death, and not give way to vehicle.
He is due to face Murwillumbah Local Court on Tuesday 28 March 2017.
