Australia’s top-three Kase Ha Shotokan Karate instructors are in town next weekend to run self-defence seminars.
Sensei Mark Smith, Mark Johnson and Terry Raftry are all Shotokan Karate Godan (5th Dan).
Dedicated Karate and other martial artists are invited to attend the seminars organised by Jean Boussard, chief instructor with Byron Shire Shotokan Karate.
‘This is an amazing opportunity to benefit from the teaching of some very advanced sensei,’ he said.
The seminars will also suit novices and are designed to be as open as possible.
‘It is practical self-defence, based on breathing and
circulating the energy properly in our bodies,’ Jean said.
The local Shotokan Karate school has roughly 45 practitioners aged from six to 72.
Where: St Finbarrs Primary School in Byron, Saturday 3pm till 6pm and Sunday morning, February 25 and 26.
