United’s second-grade team had a great win beating Alstonville 7–0 to keep them in the hunt for the semifinals of the ANZAC Cup, but the first team went down 3–1 to Goonellabah.
The second’s win was punctuated by a four-goal haul for Jarvis van Gramberg.
Cooper Cardak backed up with two goals while Leathon Ekert picked up one.
There was great backing up by Lewis Mcintosh (Jarvis’s cousin), as did the rest of the team.
The first grade went down to Goonellabah 3–1 in a hard-fought game, which will make it very difficult for the team to qualify for the semifinals.
