Seventeen local swimmers who will compete in Sydney next week all train with coach Adrian Filipic at Ocean Shores Aquatics.

All the swimmers through a range of school meets have qualified to compete for their region at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre state championships in the first week of April.

Among the group are four Regional Champs and one Regional Swimmer of the Carnival.

‘It is a remarkable achievement when you consider they have only trained through a 28-week cycle and on a rationed number of weekly sessions in comparison to others at this level,’ Adrian said.

‘These results reflect the amount of effort, passion, and dedication they train with, and the healthy balance of some fun along the way to keep the enjoyment, a much-needed ingredient in the mix.

‘A few of the swimmers have times that put them within reach of a possible top-10 finish, and the goal of making a state final will be hard but doable.’
