The Mullumbimby Bowling Club’s Ben Leeson and Leigh Rickert took out the Tweed Byron District Reserve Pairs Final against Burringbar at Ocean Shores on Sunday.

The Mullumbimby pair played solid bowls to take the early lead they maintained throughout, but the game did develop into a tight struggle and Burringbar’s Terry Standfield was forced to kill a number of ends to keep his side in the match.

The 18th end proved critical as the Mullum team picked up five shots to take an 11-shot lead, and they then took the match 23–14 against a gallant Burringbar.

The Mullumbimby pair will contest the Zone Final later in the year.
