Junior Beez basketballers were impressive in round three of the Northern Junior League and they have also made the semifinals of the Country Championships held in Newcastle over the long weekend.

Two weekends ago the U/16 Boys Beez travelled to Port Macquarie for the NJL where they won two of their three games, only losing to the hosts by just four points.

Last weekend the team was in Newcastle playing in the Country Championship alongside 117 other teams.

As of The Echo Sport print deadline both the U/16 and U/14 Boys Beez had fought their way into the semifinals.

Full results will be published next week.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
