Playing away against the Tweed Coast Raiders the Mullumbimby side was convincingly beaten 52–0.
‘It was a little bit of a disaster,’ captain coach Sam Martin said. ‘We just have to cop it on the chin and move on’.
Martin was just one of the regular team on the sideline and is not expected back before two more weeks.
The Giants were down 10–0 at half-time and were still in the game, but three more injuries in the second half left a bench of just one, and players putting in lots of game time.
‘With a depleted team we just couldn’t hold on. The Raiders got a roll on and we just couldn’t stop them,’ he said.
The Giants will be looking to get their season back on track when they play a catch-up game this Friday night away to Ballina. ‘It won’-t be an easy game,’ Sam said.
