Taking advantage of the brand new skate park and children’s playground Murwillumbah is starting up a new monthly Makers and Finders market. Set in a relaxing and fun environment, the Makers and Finders market is an exciting new venue for artists, vintage wares and musicians from the Tweed region to come together and share their wares and for the community to come to shop, meet, eat, drink and play.
‘These new markets in Murwillumbah are going to be very popular with families with plenty of free activities for kids in the park,’ said organiser Peta Gardiman.
‘We are keen to encourage the community to be environmentally aware, focusing on sustainable living and actively reusing and recycling resources. The market encourages upcycling and recycling of household goods, and also provides an outlet for creative makers to sell their works at market stalls.’
The grand opening will be taking place on August 19, at Knox Park, Brisbane Street, Murwillumbah. It will then be popping up on the third Saturday of every month. So gather your eco friendly bag, skate board, soccer ball and your picnic blanket and make the drive to Murwillumbah to breathe that fresh country air and relax in the park.
