Links are being tightened between two of Sydney’s most controversial families – the Ibrahims and Mehajers – with a marriage announced on Instagram.

The cousin of King’s Cross identity John Ibrahim, Mouhamed Tajjour, announced his engagement to Sanaa Mehajer, the sister of the former Auburn deputy-mayor Salim Mehajer, through Instagram on Christmas Eve.

“Just got engaged to my beautiful darling future wife to be,” Mr Tajjour wrote alongside a picture of him and his fiancee.

“Love u from bottom my heart my darling wife to be.”

Mr Tajjour, along with his brother Sleiman and Michael Ibrahim, were convicted of manslaughter in the killing of Robin Nassour, the brother of Fat Pizza actor George Nassour, in an ambush in 2006.

He was released in 2010.

The engagement comes after Mr Tajjour’s cousin and Mr Ibrahim’s nephew, Hassan Sayour, married Mr Mehajer’s other sister Aisha in November.

Longterm Ibrahim bodyguard Semi, “Tongan Sam” Ngata, was shot in the back at a Merrylands home where the family was making last-minute preparations for the wedding.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
