A Kempsey man will appear in Casino Local Court later this month after allegedly threatening to burn down a person’s house and chasing them up the street with a golf club.
Police allege the 31-year-old Kempsey man was told to leave a property in Oak Avenue, Casino, after making sexual comments to a juvenile.
The man left but returned a short time later with a metal pole, making racist comments to the property owner and damaging a car.
The incident happened at 4pm on 31 December. At 12.30am, the man returned to the property armed with a golf club and chased the property owner down the street, making threats to burn the house down.
Casino police were called and arrested the man.
The 31-year-old was charged with Two counts of Intimidation, Assault, Destroy Property, and two counts of Armed With Intent. He was released on conditional bail and will appear at Casino Local Court later this month.
