Following NORTECs withdrawal from their small incubation site in Mullumbimby it has now been taken over by Sourdough and is undergoing a refurbishment and they are looking to get their first tenants onto the new business incubation site by the end of February.

‘The refurbishment of the old CLIC business village is proceeding rapidly,’ aid community representative Paul Jameson.

With the surprise withdrawal of NORTEC is has left a short lead time to get everything ready for clients and they are looking for suggestions of what the site should be called.

‘It started with the name CLIC business village, then Mullumbimby innovation hub and a host of other names like the courtyard, The gateway, The sustainability centre and Mullum central.

Square donkey got a good run until we realised it means idiot in polish,’ continued Paul with a laugh.

With an exciting prize, yet to be announced, they are asking everyone in the community to come up with some interesting and dynamic names for the new business innovation site.

Sourdough spokesman mark Holden explained, ‘The name should reflect our mission and that is all about growing innovative and sustainable businesses and creating enterprise and jobs in our Byron region. It could be geographic, historic, descriptive, inspirational or a bit quirky: A name that the community will identify with and become a source of pride.’

And the prize is…

‘Glorification at our gala opening with complementary champagne and a $100 prize if an acceptable logo is included.,’ said Paul.

‘The CLIC Board will adjudicate and have final decision.’

Put your thinking cap on and hone up your creativity and send your entries to: [email protected] or call Paul on 0408 866 651 for more information.

Get your entries in by 5pm on Wednesday, March 7.
