Do you enjoy or would you like to learn more about fishing? If you are aged 8–14 years old you can get involved in the Fishcare program at Ballina and Kingscliff and learn about safe fishing and how to fish sustainably.
The Fisheries education program, Fishcare, has been set up to teach kids about how to handle and identify fish as well as how to tie tie knots and rigs as well as how to make that perfect cast.The workshop is followed by lunch and then a spot of fishing.
Workshops will be held at Kingscliff, Cudgen Foreshore Park/Jack Julius Park on March 17 and in Ballina at Faulks Reserve on April 18.
‘The cost is $40 and in return the child receives a good quality rod and reel, tackle box, shirt, wide brimmed hat and info showbag,’ said Milan Duwenhogger-Lange who is the Education Officer for the NSW Department of Primary Industries.
