Lismore’s Tender Centre in Casino Street has been sold and is set to close in coming weeks, with this weekend the last chance to make a bid on goods.
Kashka Babushka, who co-owns the business with partner Barry Hall, confirmed the business had been sold but the new owners did not want to operate in Lismore.
‘They plan to set it up somewhere else but we’re not sure where at this stage,’ she said.
Ms Babushka acknowledged that the flood last March had an impact on business.
‘We weren’t affected by flood physically. Only a loading bay was flooded but it definitely affected the business because people have not had expendable cash,’ she said.
‘This will be our last tender sale this weekend, from tomorrow, and people will be notified on Monday whether they have been successful.
She said a final ‘massive garage sale’ would be held next weekend.
She assured customers that the business would remain open long enough for people to collect the goods they have purchased, or have for sale.
The business closure was announced on Facebook. It was the second time this week that a Facebook announcement has been made regarding a Lismore business closing its door. The first was New Tattersalls Hotel.
