Hosted by the oldest living culture, Boomerang Festival was a highlight of this year’s Bluesfest.
A chance to get up close and personal with local and international Indigenous culture, Boomerang featured the very best our original culture has to offer in the arts, talks and ideas, as well as emerging musicians, and dancers and workshops.
Local Bundjalung woman Delta Kay was very happy about the opportunity for so many Indigenous people to have the chance to get together and to share and celebrate their culture.
‘The Arakwal Bumberbin people were proud to host our brothers and sisters from the Bundjalung nation, from all over Australia and our overseas performers, through story, song and dance’, said Delta after the event.
‘I really want to say thank Boomerang.’
The event, as always, ends with a dance party and on Sunday everyone came together as One Mob for a little bit of serious fun at Tyagarah.
