When he’s not anointing the heads of his acolytes with flowers, blasting some funk, rock or jazz, or soothing the soul of his customers, Frankie God of Hair is getting you into the zone and giving a seriously sharp look to the men and women of Mullumbimby.

His earthly hair salon, right next to the Rock & Roll Coffee Co, is not only the place to hang out for blokes, but women too can be transfigurated, by a female goddess, using divine colours and treatments crafted from natural and organic products.

Now that the God’s domain has expanded into the neighbouring shop, there’s also a new look, featuring old barber chairs and the soon-to-be-fashionable cuckoo clock.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

A century and a half ago, the visionary Henry David Thoreau declared people had become ‘the tool of their tools.’  In this device-driven age of smartphones, social media, and artificial intelligence, few observations could be seen as more prescient.
