A man has been charged following a search warrant at Cudgera Creek in the state’s far north.

About 10am (Thursday 31, May), police from Tweed / Byron Police District executed a search warrant at a property on Reserve Creek Road, Cudgera Creek.

Two men aged 57 and 20 were arrested at the scene.

A search of the property located cocaine, cannabis leaf, oil and seeds, MDMA, methylamphetamine, prescription drugs, crossbows, firearm parts and allegedly stolen goods including a caravan and a motorbike.

All items were secured for forensic analysis and the men were taken to Tweed Heads police station.

Following inquiries, the 20-year-old man was released without charge.

The 57-year-old man was charged with 22 offences including:

– Owner permit drug premises;

– Goods in custody;

– Receiving stolen property;

– Possession of explosives;

– Possess prohibited drug (x9);

– Possess prescribed restricted substance (x4);

– Possess prohibited weapon (x3);

– Possess prohibited article; and

– Possess ammunition without permit.

He was refused bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court tomorrow (Friday 1 June 2018).

Investigations are continuing.
